HERBS for MENgreen tea herbs obesity - weight and associated problems Disability UK

Herbs for Men? Yes, indeed! We often place so much emphasis on herbs that are special aids to women, we overlook the fact that men have special health needs, too.

The male reproductive system often needs the special boost that can be provided through herbal therapy. Men are often reluctant to admit when they need help in that area. Men are also often reluctant to admit when they are not feeling well. Hopefully, this section will give you male readers, and the women who love you, the information you need to keep yourselves healthy and vibrant.

As I have stated throughout this site, the place to start is with diet and exercise. No herbal treatment can give you the benefits that you will derive from these two simple items. Eat right every day, and it will become a habit. Exercise every day, and it will become habit. This does not mean that each and every man, woman, and child should be competing in the Iron Man Triathlon. It just means that you need to turn off the television, go outside, and walk. Jog. Bend and stretch. Go up and down the stairs a few times. Take the long way home. You get the idea.

The longer you remain physically fit and active, the longer you will be able to remain sexually active. There, that got your attention, didn't it?! There is very definitely a direct correlation between those two items. Even if you are disabled in some way, you can find a way to keep the functioning body parts exercised. It's amazing what a little daily work can net you in the boudoir!

Did you know that there really is such a thing as male menopause? Indeed, it happens to men as well. It is obviously not as dramatic as it is for women. However, there is a time in every man's life when the hormones rebalance, when men can get moody, depressed, and out of sorts with their bodies. Testosterone levels drop, estrogen levels become confused. Herbal treatments, along with diet and exercise, can help alleviate the symptoms, and help to balance the confused hormones and restore harmony to the mind, body, and spirit.

The following herbal combination can help restore that balance when male menopause occurs.

Male Menopause Formula
Wild Yam
Black Cohosh
Saw Palmetto
Damiana
Oat
Raspberry Leaf

Combine equal parts of all herbs. This can be in tincture form for the man on the go, tea, or capsules. Take once or twice per day for four days of every week for three months. This will help alleviate the moodiness and irritability. You should also take bee pollen and royal jelly daily. Couple this treatment with adequate exercise and proper diet for maximum benefit.

In most cases of hormonal imbalances in men, the same herbs that treat the hormonal imbalances in women should be used for treatment. Extended use is not recommended, but two to three month cycles, when necessary, will benefit the male reproductive system.

Kegel Exercises

Yes, those ever-popular "female" exercises are very beneficial to the man as well. It strengthens the pelvic muscles, and properly used, can be a real benefit during lovemaking. Kegels are done by squeezing and releasing the muscles that release urine. Think of it as starting and stopping your urine flow, holding it briefly between each squeeze. You can do this exercise any time, any where, and nobody knows but you. Work at this several times per day, working at increasing the time between the squeezes. This exercise helps tone the prostate gland, improve sexual performance, and sexual pleasure.

Prostate

This little gland, so very important in the male system, can be the root of many different problems that men experience. It can bring on impotence, cancer, and urinary troubles.

Believe it or not, regular ejaculation goes a long way to helping the prostate stay healthy and viable. This should make a lot of you very happy indeed! Joking aside, regular ejaculation cleanses the gland and the ducts through which spermal fluids pass. It is never too late to start this sort of therapy, either. Once again, diet and exercise are also important.

For benign prostate enlargement, the best course of treatment is a combination of equal parts of Saw Palmetto, Ginseng, Sarsaparilla, and Chaparral.

Prostititis is a painful infection of the prostate gland. A useful combination is equal parts of Saw Palmetto, Ginseng, Echinacea, Yarrow, Dandelion, Marshmallow, and Uva Ursi.

Cancer of the prostate is not necessarily an automatic death sentence. For those who want options other than surgery and chemotherapy, try the holistic approach. Prevention and treatment can be managed with a low fat, high fiber natural diet. Diet and exercise are very important when battling prostate cancer. This is one of the slowest growing forms of cancer, so there is time to take a natural approach to treatment, if it is caught early. There are many books on the market on this subject, so I will not elaborate here. I will only say, search for a good natural health practitioner in your area, and get to work healing yourself. Building the body and the immune system is vital.

Sexually Transmitted Diseases

There are many STDs lurking out there for the unsuspecting. The best method of treatment is obviously avoidance. The simple use of a good condom protects both you and your partner. Only the very inconsiderate would not use a condom in every case, except of course for marriage or long-term relationships.

Few men realize that when their female partner has a vaginal infection, he can get it too, and pass the infection back and forth, resulting in much pain, discomfort, and unnecessary arguments and hurt feelings. If she is being treated for vaginal infection, so should you. It is the responsible, loving thing to do. Abstain from unprotected sexual intercourse until both of you no longer have the discomfort associated with these pesky infections. First, both of you should take herbs that enhance the immune systems. She should also take appropriate treatments. Men can do the following, once they stop giggling and blushing long enough to do so:

Penis Bath

Combine equal parts of Yarrow, Sage, Chaparral, and Marshmallow. Add to 2 cups of boiling water, and allow to steep for 15 minutes. Strain. Add two drops of Tea Tree essential oil. Place into a drinking glass, a size that is comfortable, and hold while allowing the penis to soak in the glass. If you have a foreskin, pull it back during the soak. Use it as warm as you can stand it, and soak for at least 10 minutes twice per day for at least four days. This mixture is also a relieving, healing douche for the woman.

Infertility

Please see the section on Pregnancy and Infertility for issues and a formula regarding infertility. It is important for the man to learn to relax, de-stress, and get plenty of exercise and rest for his fertility to remain high. Boxer shorts instead of briefs, and looser pants instead of painted-on jeans, can increase sperm counts dramatically.

Testicles

It is important for the man to conduct regular testicle exams, just as the women do for their breasts. Early detection of any change is important for treating all maladies of the male reproductive system. Examine yourself once a month, every month, beginning at age 16 or so.

Orchitis, a painful inflammation of the testicles, one or both, can be treated with equal parts of Chamomile, Dong Quai, and Crampbark. Immune boosting herbs would also be advised.

Impotence

Please see the article on the "Herbs and Health" page for a detailed discussion of this common problem.

Overall Health and Beauty

One more time, I will remind you that diet and exercise are important to both. Men are often reluctant to do so, but you should research to find herbs that benefit your overall health with regular use.

Men are often reluctant to try beauty products. But, you should! If you look good, you feel good, and you will perform better, both at work and at home. Pay attention to and pamper your skin, your hair, and your body, both inside and out. Take long soaking baths once or twice a week, and use herbal recipes and natural products, especially with problem skin or hair. Learn to treat yourself well, and it will spill over into other areas of your life, and positively affect those you are in contact with, as well.

Take the time, men, to teach your sons the same. Pass on your knowledge, and your love of yourself. Teach your sons that releasing emotion is important to the overall health of the body, spirit, and mind. Teach them the use of herbal treatments early in life. Pass on your legacy of good health.
