DIRECT PAYMENTS from the Department of Health

A new scheme to provide money to those requiring community care has been introduced by the Department of Health in UK. Direct Payments are paid monthly to buy specific care services for those with disabilities. Giving people more choice and control in meeting their disability needs. Available to people over 18 who need help with normal daily activities because of age, illness or disability. Each local authority has a duty to offer direct payments.
